Raginee Sarmah

Raginee Sarmah is a PhD student at the Department of English, University of Virginia. Her doctoral project aims to undertake a genre-based study of progressive literary movements in twentieth-century South Asia. She is interested in Marxist thought, questions pertaining to literary aesthetics and form, and anti-colonial political philosophy.

Prior to joining the PhD programme at UVa, she was part of the Undergraduate Writing Programme at Ashoka University. She has a B.A. in English from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and an M.A. from Centre for English Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University.
