Lyd Havens

Lyd Havens is a second year poet in the Creative Writing MFA. Born & raised in Tucson, Arizona, she has a BFA in Creative Writing from Boise State University & moved to Charlottesville after living in Idaho for 8 years. Prior to joining UVA, she worked as a teaching assistant in a K-12 International Baccalaureate school. Lyd is the author of two chapbooks, as well as a co-author of I Wish I Wasn’t Royalty: A Playable Chapbook (Game Over Books, 2020). Her work has previously been published in Ploughshares, Poetry Northwest, New Delta Review, and Grist, among others.
