Jared is a second-year MA student in the Teaching Literature and Writing concentration. His primary field is early modern literature, particularly drama, and he has a special interest in representations of magic, on which he works with Dr. John Parker. His other interests include French literature, fairy tales, and bibliographical and textual studies. He is a 2023 recipient of the Bibliographical Society of the University of Virginia’s Battestin Fellowship, for which he worked on materials in the Gordon Collection at UVA.

 

He is completing a pedagogy thesis tentatively titled “Teaching Ambiguity in Early Modern Performance,” directed by Dr. Clare Kinney. His teaching responsibilities include an ENWR 1510 course on “Writing about Disney” (Fall ’23) and TA’ing for Dr. John Parker’s ENGL 3273 course on Shakespeare’s tragedy and romance plays (Springs ’24).
