Minor in Public Writing and Rhetoric
Students who wish to minor in Public Writing and Rhetoric must complete 18 credits as specified below:
- At least 12 credits of ENWR courses at the 3000 level or above.
- A maximum of 6 credits (total) can be earned from the following courses:
- 2000-level ENWR courses
- Exception: ENWR 2510 “Advanced Writing Seminar,” a course for advanced First Year students, will not count toward the minor.
- 3000/4000-level ENGL courses
- 3000/4000-level ENCW courses
- 2000-level ENWR courses
Only courses taken in the English Department at the University of Virginia can count toward the Public Writing and Rhetoric minor. Within the College of Arts and Sciences, the same course may not be applied to a major and a minor.
