My current focus is on the anti-capitalist politics of contemporary queer literature. I am writing a dissertation that explores how affective value accumulates around the idea of queerness as a threat to form. The first chapter centers on judgement and attitude in Andrea Lawlor’s Paul Takes the Form of a Mortal Girl; and I am planning a second chapter on genre, abolition, and Saidiya Hartman’s Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments. I am also planning an introductory-level course on the intersections of literary and sexuality studies for Spring 2022.
